Join curators Gisselle Giron and Santiago Valencia Parra for a tour of the ‘Mapping ESCALA through the archives’ exhibition.
Together they will expand on what the archives reveal to us in terms of the beginnings of art from Latin American as a field of study in the UK, and how the study of the region was always at the core of the University of Essex’s founding vision.
ESCALA originated thanks to the students and staff who worked through the years to promote interest in the cultural life of the region. and This exhibition is part of ESCALA’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
Curated by Gisselle Giron and Santiago Valencia Parra, 2022-3 MA Curating, School of Philosophical, Historical and Interdisciplinary Studies.
