From 1997 onwards my work has taken the form of series that, as a whole, contain closely linked characteristics. The theme of the gaze is an axis that both articulates and runs through all of the series: to see and not to see in the specular game of appearances.
These series offer a double meaning of the image; at a distance it takes on a decorative and banal quality but up close it provokes different feelings. Extant, available images are my repertoire and my palette. The reformulation of relationships between images when viewed up close produces tensions between them, releasing multiple feelings which seem never to cease.
